Peter Hall MQSi ACIArb

A member of Quantity Surveyors International and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators with a proven track record of delivering successful commercial and contractual solutions for both main and specialist contractors, ideally without recourse to litigation or formal dispute resolution procedures.

Born, educated and trained in the Manchester area, Peter has worked for a number of well known national and regional building contractors for over 22 years before setting up PALMS Consulting Ltd in 2007.

A member of the RICS having qualified in 1991 Peter has extensive experience in general quantity surveying duties, including Tender Bid Management, the vetting of Contracts and Tender documentation, Procurement, Contract Documentation, Interim Valuations, Cash-flow Forecasting, Final Account, Prolongation and Loss and/or Expense Claims, Dispute Resolution, Value Engineering solutions and Risk Management analysis.

Pragmatic and results orientated by working in a creative and innovative manner, happy to accept responsibility and accountability Peter provides a dynamic and supportive approach to meeting the needs of the client and believes in good communication, open dialogue and honesty are paramount in developing a successful relationship.

With nearly 30 years experience he has developed effective communication and motivational skills. He works enthusiastically either individually or with a team, addressing all opportunities to minimise risk and optimise financial recovery in a timely manner.

Peter has worked in the industry since 1985, working for the likes of G&J Seddon, Amec (now Morgan Sindall), Higgs and Hill (now BAM), Norwest Holst (now VINCI Construction), Morrison Construction (now Galliford Try) and Lovell Partnerships.

Progressing through the Quantity Surveying ranks with increasing responsibility he progressed into the role of Commercial Manager and member of the Regional Management Team in 2001.

Peter has been responsible for all commercial activities within a regional business which had an annual turnover exceeding £65m/annum.

With commercial responsibility for a team in excess of 40 staff including a team of Quantity Surveyors, the material Buying department, Design and Technical operations, Estimating and Pre-contract Planning.
